Hi,

I've just picked up a second hand Alva Satellite 544 Classic, but unfortunately it came without any documentation or accessories.

I have it working under Mac OSX Mavericks without any problems. However, could someone tell me if it needs a manufacturer's driver to work under Windows, and if so, where I might get one from? I have machines running both Windows 7 and 8, but haven't had any joy on either of them.

I see it listed as a supported display under Window-Eyes, but when I activate it, nothing happens which makes me think I need a separate driver.

Could anyone tell me whether JAWS 15 still supports the display?

I've had a look on the Optelec website to no avail. The only reference to the display I can find on there is on cached pages via a Google search, and there is no driver listed.

Hi! I have the same braille display and I was not able to connect it with Jaws in last versions!
But the good news are that with NVDA it works brilliantly. You just have to install the software BRLTTY.
Just read the NVDA's useguide, follow the instructions and it will work beautifully.
I heard Jaws also can use BRLTTY but I have no idea how.
If you want an advise, just enjoy NVDA with it, you will be successful!
